The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
Theft/Warrants – Case# CK25023415/CK25023420
Date: April 24, 2025, Time: 08:45hrs, Location: Warwick Drive, Wallaceburg
Details:
On April 24, 2025, at approximately 08:45hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a retail business in Wallaceburg. A male suspect, a 38-year-old from Chatham was observed attempting to leave the store without paying for several concealed items. When employees approached the suspect, he dropped the items and fled the scene on foot. Officers located the individual nearby and placed him under arrest. His identity was confirmed through video surveillance footage and statements provided by witnesses.
A subsequent investigation revealed the suspect was bound by a probation order and had an outstanding warrant for a similar offence.
The accused was charged with the following:
• Count 1 – Theft under $5,000
• Count 2 – Possession of Property obtained by Crime under $5,000
• Count 3 – Failure to Comply with Probation
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.

Date: April 24, 2025, Time: 00:46hrs., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
Details:
On April 24, 2025, at approximately 00:46 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service arrested a 44-year-old male suspect from Chatham-Kent following a series of incidents involving multiple breaches of conditions imposed by the court, a break and enter and a reported assault. His conditions also prohibited him contacting a known victim and restricted access to certain areas in Wallaceburg.
On April 22, 2025, the suspect unlawfully entered the residence of a 69-year-old male victim from Wallaceburg, while he was not at home. Two days later, on April 24, 2025, the accused returned, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into an assault.
Chatham-Kent Police officers arrived shortly after located and arrested the suspect. He is currently facing the following charges:
• Count 1: Fail to Comply with Probation Order
• Count 2: Fail to Comply Release Order
• Count 3: Fail to Comply Release Order
• Count 4: Fail to Comply Undertaking
