The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Arrest, Warrants – Case# CK25022943
Date: April 22, 2025, Time: 10:36hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
Details:
On December 6, 2024, at approximately 15:30 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police service received a report of a theft involving an online marketplace transaction (CK24062969). The complainant, a 71-year-old male from Wallaceburg had arranged to meet a buyer to sell a gold bracelet valued at $2,000. Upon meeting at the agreed location, the buyer asked to view the bracelet, then suddenly grabbed the item, and fled on foot. The incident was reported to police, and local pawn shops were alerted. Further investigation confirmed the suspect’s identity.
On December 7, 2024, police learned that the suspect, a 19-year-old male from Chatham had attempted to resell the bracelet at a local business. Witnesses also confirmed that the item and suspect matched the previous reported. The suspect failed to provide proof of ownership and left the store.
On April 22, 2025, the suspect was arrested on outstanding charges related to theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. The accused was released with conditions and a future court date.
