Arrest/Bail Violations – Case# CK25022018
Date: April 17, 2025, Time: 16:46hrs., Location: King Street East, Chatham
Details:
On April 17, 2025, at approximately 16:46 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance at a residential unit in Chatham. Upon arrival, officers observed a 22-year-old male from Chatham walking away from the front of the residence. Investigations revealed that the male had breached his probation conditions by being at the location, which he was ordered to avoid due to prior convictions related to uttering threats and assault.
The individual attempted to force entry by kicking the front door, further violating the terms of his probation. He was arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and was released with a scheduled future court date of May 20, 2025.
Arrest, Assault – Case# CK25022161
Date: April 18, 2025, Time: 07:35hrs Location: Wallaceburg
Details:
On April 18, 2025, at approximately 7:35 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police received a report from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) regarding an assault that occurred at Wallaceburg involving a 42-year-old male victim from Wallaceburg, who had been transported to the hospital with head injuries. A joint investigation was conducted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police.
It was revealed that earlier that morning, a disturbance occurred at a residence in Wallaceburg after a 24-year-old male suspect from Wallaceburg was believed to be intoxicated, entered the residence, and began shouting obscenities. An argument escalated, and the suspect allegedly struck the victim several times in the head with a golf club. The victim was transported to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
Police located the golf club which was allegedly used in the assault. The suspect was arrested for assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was released with a scheduled court date of May 26, 2025. The Chatham-Kent Police Service, thanks the Ontario Provincial police for their assistance in this case.
Arrest, IPV Mischief – Case# CK25022381
Date: April 19, 2025, Time: 08:58hrs, Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
Details:
On April 19, 2025, at approximately 8:58 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of domestic mischief involving a vehicle in Chatham. The victim, a 30-year-old male from Chatham reported that his partner, a 31-year-old female also from Chatham, had intentionally damaged his vehicle by smashing the windshield and causing multiple dents to his vehicle. Officers attended the scene, observed the reported damage, and conducted an investigation. The accused was located nearby by police and was arrested for Mischief Under $5000. The accused was released with a scheduled court date of May 26, 2025.
Arrest, Impaired – Case# CK25022534
Date: April 20, 2025, Time: 05:51hrs, Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
Details:
On April 20, 2025, at 5:51 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a complaint of a vehicle parked at a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg. The vehicle had reportedly been in the parking lot for a few hours with the four-way flashers (lights) on and a male driver was slumped over the wheel.
Officers located the vehicle with a lone 52-year-old male occupant from Wallaceburg passed out at the wheel. The vehicle was parked across two spaces, with the ignition on and headlights.
Chatham-Kent Police officers were able to wake the male occupant and escorted him from the vehicle. Police conducted a roadside investigation and noted signs of impairment consistent with drug use. The male driver appeared confused, had difficulty speaking and showed poor coordination.
Subsequently, he was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). According to the results, it was determined that the accused was impaired by drug use. He was charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Drug.
The accused was released with a scheduled court date of May 26, 2025.
Arrest, Drug Offences – Case# CK25022884
Date: April 21, 2025, Time: 00:52 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
Details:
On April 21, 2025, at approximately 00:52 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service attended a motel in Chatham in connection with a suspect from a previous fail-to-remain collision. Officers observed a 19-year-old male from Chatham exiting a unit carrying a bag. When approached, the male fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after discarding the bag behind a vehicle.
Officers recovered the bag, which contained approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency, six hundred grams of suspected cocaine, and thirty-four grams of suspected fentanyl. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and was charged with the following:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
He was released with a scheduled future court date of May 22, 2025.
