The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
IPV Assault – Case# CK25020826
Date: April 11, 2025, Time: 2031 hrs., Location: Dover Township
Details:
On April 11, 2025, at approximately 2031 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an IPV Assault at Dover Township.
Upon arrival, police learned that a 70-year-old female from Dover Township, had been involved in a verbal argument with her 71-year-old male spouse from Chatham. The altercation escalated, and it was alleged that the accused physically assaulted the complainant. The altercation resulted in the female receiving visible injuries to the head.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was charged with Assault causing Bodily Harm. He was released with a scheduled court date of May 12, 2025.
Impaired – Case# CK25020970
Date: April 12, 2025, Time: 2031 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
Details:
On April 12, 2025, at approximately 2031 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred at a parking lot on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Through investigation, it was determined that a 31-year-old female driver from Chatham was involved in the incident exhibited signed of impairment. Officers conducted a roadside investigation, which included a screening device test. The driver subsequently failed the test.
She was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where further testing was conducted. The accused was charged with Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). She was released with a scheduled court date of April 28, 2025
Bail Violation – Case# CK25021165
Date: April 12, 2025, Time: 1559hrs., Location: Sunnyside Avenue, Chatham
Details:
On April 4, 2025, a 19-year-old male from Chatham-Kent was arrested for multiple criminal charges (CK25019392) and was subsequently released with several conditions that he had to abide by.
On April 13, 2025, at approximately 1559hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of McNaughton Avenue in Chatham. Police were informed that an individual had approached two youths in a park and offered and attempted to provide them with a nicotine vaping device. A description of the individuals was provided to officers.
Police officers located the male walking toward a nearby field and noted clear signs of impairment and intoxication by alcohol. Further checks revealed that the male was in breach of his conditions. The accused was arrested for breaching his release conditions.
He was released with a scheduled future court date of April 14, 2025.
