On November 30, 2025, at approximately 17:56 hrs, while Chatham-Kent Police Service officers were patrolling the downtown core of Chatham, they observed a male loitering at the ATM vestibule on King Street West, Chatham (CK25072018).
Investigations revealed that the male, a 32-year-old from Chatham-Kent entered into a probation order on April 2, 2025, for several offences with one specifically stating that the accused was not to attend the location on King Street West, Chatham. His presence at the ATM vestibule was a direct breach of his court-ordered condition. The accused was arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with his Probation Order. The individual was transported to the to South West Detention Centre (SWDC), where he will remain in custody until his next scheduled video court appearance on December 4, 2025.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service continues to increase proactive patrols in the downtown core to address ongoing safety concerns.
Year-to-date, officers have conducted a total of 198-foot patrols compared to 90 in 2024, a 144% increase, demonstrating CKPS’s commitment to public safety, improving community engagement and addressing safety concerns before they escalate.
