CK24060895 – Child Sexual Abuse Material, Chatham-Kent man arrested
In November of 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) received information from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that a Chatham-Kent resident was sharing child sexual abuse material on the social media platform Snapchat.
On November 27th, 2024, as part this on-going investigation, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service ICE unit executed a Criminal Code Search warrant in Blenheim. Several electronic devices were seized during a search of the residence.
Through analysis of devices seized from the residence, police believe that the man was communicating with several child victims via social media applications including Snapchat, Facebook Messenger and Discord.
On Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, the 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with Possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, making child pornography available and luring a person under the age of 18.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing and the investigation is continuing.
