On October 1, 2026, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an assault involving a 45-year-old male accused and a 39-year-old female victim, both from Chatham, who were travelling in a vehicle.
The investigation revealed that an argument had escalated into a physical altercation. The accused pulled the victim’s hair, threw various tools from within the vehicle at the victim and uttered threats before removing her from the vehicle and leaving the area. No additional medical attention was needed.
Police later located the accused at a residence in Chatham. Further investigation also revealed historical incidents of assault involving the victim.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
- Count 2: Uttering Threats to Cause Death
- Count 3: Assault with a Weapon
- Count 4: Assault
- Count 5: Assault Causing Bodily Harm
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for a bail.
