Impaired – CK26071429
Date: September 25, 2026, 0021 hrs. Location: North Street, Dresden
On September 26, 2026, at approximately 00:20 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was conducting a RIDE checkpoint on North Street, Dresden, when officers observed a vehicle appearing to change its course of travel to avoid the checkpoint. Police subsequently located the vehicle a minute later and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver, a 39-year-old male from Wallaceburg, failed an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test and was arrested.
He was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing. Breath samples were obtained, and the readings exceeded the legal limit.
Further investigation revealed that the individual was driving while under suspension.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
- Drive while under suspension
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4, 2026.

Assault (IPV) – CK26071459
Date: September 26, 2026, 0330 hrs. Location: Chatham
On September 26, 2026, at approximately 03:12 hours, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a domestic dispute in Chatham.
During the investigation, officers learned that a 54-year-old female had been assaulted by a 54-year-old male, both from Chatham.
Further investigation revealed that the accused, who was in breach of his probation order, physically assaulted the victim by shoving her to the ground, restricting her breathing, and uttering threats to the victim.
Medical attention was not required.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
- Count 2: Assault causing bodily harm
- Count 3: Uttering threats
- Count 4: Failure to comply with a probation order
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Impaired/Over 80– CK26071818
Date: September 27, 2026, 1632 hrs. Location: Longwoods Road, Thamesville
On September 27, 2026, at approximately 16:32 hours, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a fail to remain collision on Longwoods Road, west of Thamesville.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle had collided with another vehicle near a construction zone.
Following the collision, a 33-year-old male victim from Chatham exited his vehicle and was struck by the accused’s vehicle, a 43-year-old male from Chatham. The accused fled the scene and was later located at a residence in Thamesville. Additional medical treatment was required.
Officers attended the residence, where the driver failed an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test.
He was subsequently arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing. Breath samples were obtained, and the readings exceeded the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired by alcohol
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to stop after an accident
- Operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg per 100 mL of blood
The individual was later released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on November 2, 2026.
