CK26068937 – IPV FTC

On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at approximately 16:41 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an intimate partner violence-related incident in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a Chatham man was bound by conditions not to associate or communicate with a woman as a result of a previous intimate partner violence investigation.
The man observed the woman sitting on a bench, he approached her and attempted to engage her in conversation, contrary to his release conditions.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with:
- Failure to comply with release order
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
CK26069010 – Breach of Probation
Date: September 16, 2026, 18:34 hrs
Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham, ON
On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at approximately 18:34 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were conducting general patrol in the area of Wellington Street West in Chatham, when officers observed a woman known to police on private property.
Through investigation officers confirmed the woman was bound by multiple court-imposed conditions, including a probation order prohibiting her from attending the property.
Police located the woman on the property and advised her that she was in breach of her conditions.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Chatham woman of No fixed address was arrested and charged with:
- Failure to comply with probation order.
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.
CK26069045 – Impaired
Date: September 16, 2026, 22:45 hrs
Location: Wheatley Road, Wheatley, ON
On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at approximately 22:45 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wheatley Road in Wheatley.
Police located a vehicle that had entered a ditch. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver had been operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol.
As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old man of Harwich Township has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+)
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date of October 26, 2026.
