Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit have laid multiple drug trafficking charges following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Chatham.
On September 10, 2026, investigators executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Wellington Street East as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The warrant was executed with the assistance of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Emergency Response Team.
During a search of the residence, officers seized:
- Approximately 72 grams of cocaine
- Approximately 36 grams of methamphetamine
- Approximately 21 grams of fentanyl
- Digital scales
- Drug packaging materials
- Cellular telephones
- A significant quantity of Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $13,500.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old male and a 42-year-old female both of Chatham were arrested and charged with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
The male accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The female accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
