Fail to Comply (Probation) – CK26064769

Location: Richmond Street, Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at approximately 18:06 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a male party who was sleeping while positioned in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle at a business located on Richmond Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man and learned that he was currently bound by a probation order containing a condition requiring him to comply with a search of any motor vehicle he was operating.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating suspected crystal methamphetamine and a knife. The possession of these items was contrary to conditions of his probation order.
As a result, the 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation order.
He was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Date: September 1, 2026, 22:15 hrs
Location: Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg, ON
On Tuesday, September 1, at approximately 22:15 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
During the investigation, the officer developed grounds to suspect that the driver had alcohol in his system. As a result, the officer made a demand for the driver to provide a breath sample into an Approved Screening Device. The driver refused to comply with the demand and was subsequently arrested.
The 49-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The accused was then released on an appearance notice with a future court date of September 15, 2026.
Intimate Partner Violence / Assault – CK26064825
Date: September 1, 2026, 22:03 hrs
Location: Wheatley, ON
On September 1, 2026, at approximately 22:03 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an intimate partner violence investigation in Wheatley after receiving information regarding injuries sustained by a woman.
Police learned that the woman had sent photographs of facial injuries to a family member, who contacted police.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Wheatley man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was later released on an undertaking with conditions and future court date of October 5, 2026.
