Mischief – CK26063704

Location: King Street West, Chatham, ON
On Friday, August 28, 2026, at approximately 15:53 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a mischief complaint in the area of King Street West in Chatham. Information was received that a female party was spray-painting walls and ripping plants out behind a business.
Officers attended the area and located a woman matching the description provided by the complainant. Police observed fresh spray paint on the wall and located several cans of spray paint nearby. Through investigation, officers confirmed the woman’s involvement in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000
The woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.

Disturbance – CK26064054
Date: August 30, 2026, 00:44 hrs
Location: Prince Street North, Chatham, ON
On the early morning of Saturday, August 30, 2026, at approximately 00:44 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were called to assist with an unwanted party at a residence located on Prince Street North in Chatham.
Upon arrival police learned a male party had caused damage to the residence after a verbal argument took place.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000
The man was then brought to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date of November 24, 2026.

Impaired – CK26064240
Date: August 30, 2026, 21:09 hrs
Location: Richmond Street, Chatham, ON
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at approximately 21:09 hrs, police were contacted by employees of a business on Richmond Street regarding a suspected impaired driver who had left the establishment.
At approximately 21:27 hrs, police were called to a motor vehicle collision at the roundabout on Queens Line. Officers attended and located the driver, who was identified as the same individual reported earlier by the business.
Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol. The man was arrested for operation while impaired by alcohol and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing.
While at police headquarters, the man refused to provide breath samples and was additionally charged with refusal to comply with a demand.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Bell River man has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired by alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date of October 6, 2026.
