On August 22, 2026, at approximately 02:56 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line, Chatham-Kent.
The investigation revealed that a single motor vehicle, operated by a 23-year-old male from Chatham, lost control and left the roadway before entering a ditch.
The driver sustained significant injuries that were determined to be life-threatening. The driver was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment. He was later transported to Victoria Hospital in London for further medical care.
Due to the severity of the collision and the injuries sustained, members of the Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The intersection of Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
