Date: August 20, 2026, Time: 10:45 hrs.
Location: Chatham
On August 20, 2026, at approximately 10:45 hrs., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of threats between a 42-year-old male accused and a 29-year-old female victim, both from Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned of several historical incidents that occurred between August and December 2024 which involved physical assaults, threats and forcible confinement. The accused also uttered threats to cause death to the victim.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Assault
- Count 2: Assault
- Count 3: Assault
- Count 4: Assault causing bodily harm – Choke
- Count 5: Forcible Confinement
- Count 6: Utter threats to cause death
- Count 7: Utter threats to cause death
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service where he is currently being held for bail.

Date: August 20, 2026, Time: 22:30 hrs
Location: Water Street, Raleigh Township
On August 20, 2026, at approximately 22:30 hrs., a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Water Street, Raleigh Township, travelling without lights and having difficulty maintaining its lane.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 57-year-old male from Raleigh Township, was arrested for impaired driving.
The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing, where he provided two samples above the legal limit.
As a result, the individual was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was later released with conditions and a future court date of October 1, 2026.

Date: August 21, 2026, Time: 00:03 hrs.
Location: Prince Albert Road, Chatham
On August 21, 2026, at approximately 00:03 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Prince Albert Road, Chatham.
The investigation revealed that a 24-year-old motorist was travelling northbound in the southbound lane. The vehicle was also swerving on the roadway and eventually collided with the rear of a semi-trailer. No injuries were reported.
The driver was arrested for impaired driving. She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further breath testing, where she provided two samples above the legal limit.
As a result, the individual was charged with the following:
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was later released with conditions and a future court date of September 29, 2026.
