Assault – CK26060834
Date: August 18, 2026, 06:46 hrs
Location: Catherine Street, Blenheim, ON
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 06:46 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence on Catherine Street in Blenheim regarding an assault complaint.
Through investigation, police learned two parties known to each other were involved in a dispute. The dispute escalated with the accused choking the victim and fleeing the residence shortly after police were contacted.
A short while later police were able to locate the accused and arrested him without incident.
As a result of the entire investigation, a 55-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with:
- One count of Assault Casuse Bodily Harm
- One count of Assault
- One count of Mischief under $5,000
- One count of theft under $5,000
The accused was taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Threats – CK26061009
Date: August 18, 2026, 18:14 hrs
Location: Irwin Street, Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 18:14 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were called to attend an address on Irwin Street in Chatham regarding a threat’s complaint.
Through investigation, police learned that a woman had made threats to burn down a neighbouring tent.
As a result, a 50-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering threats – Damage to property
The accused was taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.
Theft – CK26061055
Date: August 18, 2026, 21:20 hrs
Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 21:20 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a business on Grand Avenue East in Chatham for a reported theft in progress.
An employee reported observing a pickup truck attempting to steal a 24-foot flatbed trailer from the property. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and arrested two individuals in connection with this incident.
Further investigation revealed a Yamaha Kodiak ATV located in the bed of the pickup truck had previously been reported stolen in a separate investigation.
As a result, a 31-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were each arrested and charged with:
- One count of theft over $5,000
- One count of Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5,000
Both individuals were transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where they were held pending a bail hearing.
