Theft – CK26058670
Date: August 10, 2026, 1515hrs Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On August 10, 2026, at approximately 1515hrs, police were dispatched to an address on St. Clair Street regarding a theft.
Officers were advised that a male had left a business with several items without making any attempt to pay for them.
A 36-year-old Chatham male was arrested for:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Breach
He was released on a Form 9 with a future court date.
Mischief (IPV) – CK26058717
Date: August 10, 2026, 1826hrs Location: Wallaceburg
On August 10, 2026, at approximately 1826hrs, police received information that a male had smashed the taillight on a female’s vehicle parked in Wallaceburg. The male then left scene.
Officers located the Chatham-Kent male and arrested him for Mischief Under $5,000 and Fail to Comply With Probation Order.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for bail.
Impaired/Refusal – CK26058749
Date: August 10, 2026, 2120hrs Location: McNaughton Avenue, Chatham
On August 10, 2026, at approximately 2120hrs, police received a complaint of erratic driving on Bear Line.
Officers located the vehicle on McNaughton Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.
Police requested the driver provide a sample of her breath into an Approved Screening Device. After the device registered a “Fail”, she was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing.
Once at the station, she refused to provide samples into an approved instrument.
As a result, a 39-year-old Chatham female is facing the following charges:
- Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
She was released on a Form 10 with a court date of September 15, 2026.
