Robbery – CK26044432
Date: June 19, 2026, 10:38 hrs
Location: McNaughton Avenue West, Chatham, ON
On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 10:38 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a robbery at a business on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a male suspect had stole alcohol from the store and threatened a staff member when confronted while exiting.
Officers located and arrested the suspect a short time later at a residence in Chatham.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged for:
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Robbery

Impaired – CK26044760
Date: June 20, 2026, 16:04 hrs
Location: Merlin Road, Raleigh Township, ON
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 16:04 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a traffic complaint regarding a driver who was reportedly unable to maintain their lane and had nearly struck several motorcyclists and another vehicle.
Chatham-Kent Police officers located the vehicle and subsequently initiated a traffic stop.
Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the male driver exhibited signs of impaired while operating a motor vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters to provide further testing.
While at headquarters, the accused was provided an opportunity to comply with a lawful breath demand but reused to provide suitable samples.
As a result, a 53-year-old Merlin man was charged with:
- Impaired operation of a conveyance
- Failure or refusal to comply with breath demand
The accused was subsequently released with a future court date of July 27, 2026.

Assault (IPV) – CK26045010
Date: June 21, 2026, 18:47 hrs
On June 21, 2026, at approximately 18:47 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance involving a male and a female in a vehicle in the Wallaceburg area.
An investigation revealed that a 29-year-old male from Wallaceburg assaulted a 30-year-old female victim from Wallaceburg, then exited the vehicle and left the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted, including being choked, slapped and threatened. The accused also damaged the victim’s cellular phone during the incident.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault to Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, Suffocate or Strangle
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5,000
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of July 29, 2026.
