Date: June 9, 2026, 17:45hrs Location: Park Ave East, Chatham
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of a business on Park Avenue East in Chatham. Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old male who was arrested on an outstanding immigration warrant. The Canada Border Services Agency was contacted and agreed to take custody of the individual. He was transported to police headquarters and turned over to CBSA officers.

Date: June 9, 2026, 19:31hrs Location: Southeast, Chatham
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 19:31hrs., Chatham-Kent police responded to an intimate partner violence incident at a residence in southeast area of Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the woman had owed the man money stemming from a debt incurred approximately two years earlier. Police also learned that the man had allegedly threatened the woman on prior occasions while seeking repayment. On this date, the woman encountered the man again, and the interaction escalated from a verbal dispute into a physical altercation.
As a result of the investigation, a 67-year-old Chatham man was arrested for assault and uttering threats. He was also arrested on the strength of five outstanding Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act warrants. The was transported to police headquarters and is currently being held for bail.

Date: June 9, 2026, 22:29hrs Location: Pine Street, Chatham
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 22:29hrs., Chatham-Kent police responded to an intimate partner violence-related call at an apartment on Pine Street in Chatham. Police learned a 28-year-old Chatham-Kent male had returned to the residence after being told to stay away. He was located nearby and arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters and later released on Form 10 with conditions and a future court date of July 20, 2026.
