Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) – CK26037567

Location: Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 07:00hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to address in Chatham for an IPV complaint. Through investigation, officers learned that an altercation had occurred between two individuals known to one another. The victim was able to leave the residence and seek assistance from a nearby resident before police arrived.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of assault.
The accused was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Date: May 26, 2026, 12:39hrs
On May 26, 2026, at approximately 12:39hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a motel on Grand Avenue West in Chatham after receiving reports of property damage and threats involving a tenant.
Through investigation, police learned the accused had allegedly caused signficnt damage to a motel room and threatened to set the room on fire.
Police later located the accused in the motel parking lot and arrested him without incident.
As a result, a 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats.
The accused was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where they were released with a future court date of August 24, 2026.
