Operation While Prohibited – CK26033933
Date: May 13, 2026, 2014hrs Location: Baldoon Road, Chatham
On May 13, 2026, at approximately 2014hrs, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Baldoon Road in Chatham.
Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving, that the licence plates attached to the vehicle did not belong on the vehicle and that the vehicle was uninsured.
As a result, a 61-year-old Chatham man was arrested for the following offences:
- Operation While Prohibited (from a 2022 offence)
- Operation While Prohibited (from a 2025 offence)
He was also issued four Part 3 Summons for the following:
- Drive While Suspended
- Drive While Suspended
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Insurance
He was released on a Form 9 with a court date of June 23, 2026.
Assault (IPV) – CK26034001
Date: May 14, 2026, 0050hrs Location: Selkirk Street, Chatham
On May 14, 2026, at approximately 0050hrs, a female was located in emotional distress on Selkirk Street in Chatham.
Investigation revealed that she had sustained minor physical injuries after being assaulted.
A 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested for the following:
- Assault
- Failure to Comply With Probation
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for bail.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service is continuing its Road Safety Week Initiative.
In the past 24 hours, 46 traffic stops were conducted resulting in numerous Provincial Offences Notices being issued.
