Theft – CK26028136, CK26029973
Date: April 29, 2026, 1419hrs Location: Alexandra Avenue, Chatham
Two suspects have been arrested and charged in relation to a theft investigation.
On April 21, 2026 between 17:00hrs and 14:00hrs on April 22, 2026, the suspects had entered a locked construction trailer on Lacroix Street, Chatham and removed approximately $4,000 worth of Dewalt tools.
During the investigation, investigators identified a residence on Alexandra Avenue connected to the incident. On April 29, 2026, at approximately 14:12hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at this address and locating several of the stolen items.
As a result, a 47-year-old male and a 16-year-old male youth, both from Chatham, were arrested for two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
They were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 30, 2026
Assault/IPV – CK26030012
Date: April 29, 2026, 1859hrs Location: Chatham
On April 29, 2026, at approximately 18:59hrs, police attended an address in the north end of Chatham regarding an assault.
Through investigation officers learned a verbal altercation between a male youth and a female youth escalated when he slapped her face. He then assaulted his mother when she confronted him about the altercation.
As a result the 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 8, 2026
