Chatham-Kent Police Service is aware that the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) announced that criminal charges have been laid against a former Chatham-Kent Police Service officer stemming from an incident that occurred in 2009.
The SIU has charged Ken MILLER a former CKPS officer with one count of sexual assault, one count sexual exploitation and one count of breach of trust, he was released on several conditions and a future court date on May 19, 2026. MILLER resigned from the Chatham-Kent Police Service in March of 2018.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service recognizes the sensitive nature of these allegations and acknowledges the impact such matters can have on survivors and the community. We remain committed to accountability, transparency and maintaining the trust and confidence of the community we serve.
This investigation was conducted independently by the SIU, as required by law. As the matter is before the courts, the Chatham-Kent Police Service will not be commenting further.
