Date: April 20, 2026, Time: 18:41 hrs., Location: Merritt Avenue, Chatham
On April 20, 2026, at approximately 18:41 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an assault on Merritt Avenue in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a physical altercation occurred between a 50-year-old-male accused and a 31-yea-old female victim, both from Chatham.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault
- Assault to Cause Bodily Harm
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a future court date of June 1, 2026.
Impaired Operation, Arrest – CK26027684
Date: April 20, 2026, Time: 22:22hrs., Location: Queens Line, Chatham
On April 20, 2026, at approximately 22:22hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a traffic stop on Queens Line, Chatham.
During the investigation, the driver, a 29-year-old female from Tecumseh, displayed signs of being impaired. An approved Screen Device was administered, however the accused failed.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing., where the breath samples registered over the legal limit.
Subsequently, she was charged with the following:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
The accused was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of June 8, 2026.
