The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Warrants – CK26027009
Date: April 17, 2026, Time: 20:40 hrs., Location: Queens Line, Chatham
On October 20, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report that a debit card had been stolen from a restaurant on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The victim, an 18-year-old female from Chatham, discovered multiple unauthorized transactions made on the same day the card was stolen.
Through investigation and video surveillance, a 46-year-old male from Raleigh Township was identified.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following:
- Count 1 – Fraud Under $5,000
- Count 2 – Unauthorized use of a Credit card
- Count 3 –Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On April 17, 2026, at approximately 23:40 hrs. the accused was located on Queens Line, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his warrant and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. The individual was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of July 7, 2026.
Warrants – CK26027073
Date: April 18, 2026, Time: 10:27 hrs., Location: Hertitage Road, Chatham
On March 8, 2026, at approximately, 16:46hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a retail store on Grand Avenue West, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that an accused entered the store, selected merchandise and left without making an attempt to pay for the items.
Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 53-year-old female from Chatham. Officers formed grounds to charge the individual with the following
- Theft under $5000,
- Possession under $5000
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On April 18, 2026, at approximately 10:27 hrs., the accused was located on Heritage Road, Chatham and was arrested on the strength of her outstanding warrant. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, she is currently held for bail.
Intimate Partner Violence – CK26027121
Date: April 18, 2026, Time: 12:22 hrs., Location: Chatham
On April 18, 2026, at approximately 12:22 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a male violating court‑ordered conditions at a residence in Chatham.
Investigation determined that a 23-year-old male from Chatham was at the residence of a 24-year-old victim, which was in breach of his communication and association conditions of two probation orders. Further investigations revealed that the victim was assaulted
Police located the accused inside the residence and he was arrested. The victim was transported to hospital for medical treatment.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:
- Fail to comply with probation order x 2
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault cause bodily harm
- Sexual Assault x2
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.
Intimate Partner Violence – CK26027299
Date: April 19, 2026, Time: 9:46 hrs., Location: Chatham
On April 19, 2026, at approximately 9:46 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence in Chatham.
Police attended the address and determined that a verbal and physical altercation had occurred between two individuals, a 35-year-old female accused and a 26-year-old male, both from Chatham. No serious physical injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she is currently held for bail.
