The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Stolen Vehicle – CK26026406
Date: April 15, 2026, Time: 15:53 hrs., Location: Base Line, Wallaceburg
On April 15, 2026, at approximately 15:53 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a business on Base Line Road in Wallaceburg.
At approximately 15:55 hrs., officers located the stolen vehicle travelling northbound on McNaughton Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted on McNaughton Avenue and the driver, a 32-year-old female from Chatham-Kent was arrested.
Further investigation revealed that the individual was operating the vehicle while under suspension. A search of the recovered vehicle also resulted in the recovery of property belonging to another victim, which had been reported stolen earlier.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Count 3: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 4: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Count 5: Driving While Under Suspension
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she is currently held for bail.
Threats– CK26026338
Date: April 15, 2026, Time: 10:13 hrs., Location: Manning Drive, Chatham.
On April 15, 2026, at approximately 10:13 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a threats.
Investigations revealed that a 44-year-old male from Chatham was involved in a verbal altercation with family members while travelling in a vehicle northbound on Charing Cross Road.
During the incident, the accused became agitated and made multiple threats towards the occupants of the vehicle. The accused also engaged in erratic driving behaviour.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Uttering Threats to cause death x 4
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, he was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of May 27, 2026.
