Date: April 14, 2026, Time: 23:07 hrs., Location: Paxton Dr, Chatham
On April 14, 2026, at approximately 23:07 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance on King Street East involving a weapon.
Through the investigation, officers learned that an 18-year-old female victim was threatened with a knife during an altercation inside a vehicle. The victim was able to escape safely and later reported the incident to police. She sustained minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old male from Chatham was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1 – Failing to Comply with Probation Order
- Count 2 – Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Count 3 – Assault with a Weapon
- Count 4 – Forcible Confinement
- Count 5 – Uttering threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.
Theft – CK26026245
Date: April 15, 2026, Time: 23:07 hrs., Location: Sylvester Drive and Daleview Dr, Chatham
On April 15, 2026, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a male going through vehicles on Sylvester Drive in Chatham.
Officers located the accused and a struggle occurred before he was arrested. The accused, a 53-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was charged with the following:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Trespassing at Night
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of July 15, 2026.
