On Monday, March 30, 2026, at approximately 2:50 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to a two‑motor‑vehicle collision on Queen’s Line, between Drake Road and Dillon Road, in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The collision involved a motorcycle operated by a 49‑year‑old male from Raleigh Township and an SUV operated by a 40‑year‑old female from Merlin. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

The 49‑year‑old male suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Public General Campus, before being transferred to London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital via air ambulance. The driver of the SUV was assessed at the scene and did not require transport to the hospital.

Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. The investigation remains open and ongoing.
