Date: March 30, 2026, Time: 13:46 hrs., Location: King Street East, Chatham

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 13:46 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a motor vehicle incident on King Street East, Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers located an 82-year-old female from Chatham who had been pinned beneath a motor vehicle. Officers immediately began providing assistance until emergency medical services arrived.

The investigation determined that the individual had exited her vehicle while it was still in reverse, causing the vehicle to move and strike her.

She was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind residents to ensure their vehicle is securely placed in park and the parking brake is engaged before exiting.

CK26022428 – Warrants

Date: March 31, 2026, Time: 01:19 hrs., Location: Pine Street, Chatham

On August 28, 2025, at approximately 09:09 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Pine Street, Chatham (CK25051702).

Later that morning, officers located a male riding the stolen bicycle on Pine Street in Chatham. The individual was identified as a 42-year-old male from Chatham.

As a result of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Possession of property under $5000

A subsequent search warrant executed at a Pine Street residence led to the recovery of a stolen item linked to a break and enter on Prince Arthur Avenue in Chatham which occurred on August 27, 2025.

The accused was additionally charged with the following:

  • Count 2: Possession of property under $5000

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with a court date of March 19, 2026, which he failed to attend. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 01:19 hrs., the accused was located on Pine Street, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding Bench Warrant. The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.

Date: March 31, 2026, Time: 00:17 hrs., Location: King Street East, Chatham

On March 31, 2026, at approximately 00:17 hrs., the Chatham-Ken Police Service responded to a disturbance on King Street East, Chatham.

Investigation revealed that a group of individuals were yelling in a parking lot causing disturbances. Police received several calls indicating that the individuals were moving between a residential unit and the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old female from Chatham in the parking lot who displayed signs of being intoxicated.

As a result of the investigation, she was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Intoxication in a Public Place

She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and held until sober. The individual was later released with a Provincial Offence Notice.
