The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

CK26021315 – Arrest FTC (IPV)

Date: March 26, 2026, Time: 13:13 hrs., Location: Little Street, Wheatley

On March 26, 2026, at approximately 13:13 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence in Wheatley regarding an individual breaching a court-ordered condition.

Investigations revealed that the accused, a 45-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was bound by court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from attending any place where a 40-year-old victim from Wheatley, is known to live, work, or attend.

On March 13, 2026, the accused attended the residence, where he forced entry by damaging the rear door. Despite these conditions, the individual also attended the residence on multiple occasions between March 23 and March 26, 2026.

Officers attended and located the accused inside the residence. He was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 5
  • Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.

CK26021289– Arrest Assault

Date: March 26, 2026, Time: 10:48hrs., Location: Edgar Street, Chatham

On March 26, 2026, at approximately 10:48 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an assault on Edgar Street, Chatham.

Investigations revealed that a 61-year-old male victim from Chatham was physically assaulted by a 32-year-old male from Chatham. The victim was pushed from behind by the accused, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim sustained minor injuries and emergency medical services were not required.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Assault

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of May 28, 2026.
