Arrest/IPV Criminal Harassment- CK26018919
Date: March 16, 2026, Time: 15:06 hrs., Location: Chatham
On March 16, 2026, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report from a 19-year-old female victim from Chatham, regarding repeated unwanted contact from a 19-year-old male accused also from Chatham.
Investigations revealed that, despite being told to stop communications, the accused continued contacting her through calls, messages and various other means of communication.
Further investigations also revealed that an earlier incident had occurred in October 2025, during which the accused physically assaulted the victim following an escalated argument.
The accused was located in Chatham and was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Assault
- Count 2: Criminal Harassment
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of May 20, 2026.
Arrest/Fail to Comply/Theft – CK26018959
Date: March 16, 2026, Time: 18:30 hrs., Location: Duncan Street, Wallaceburg
On March 13, 2026, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a local retail store on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg.
Investigations revealed that the accused attended the retail store, selected merchandise and left without making an attempt to purchase.
Through surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 26-year-old male from Chatham.
Further investigations also revealed that the accused was also bound by prior court-ordered conditions prohibiting attendance at the same location.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:
- Count 1 -Theft Under $5,000
- Count 2 -Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Count 3- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On March 16, 2026, at approximately 18:30 hrs., the accused was located on Duncan Street, Wallaceburg, where he was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.
Arrest/Assault with Weapon – CK26018950
Date: March 16, 2026, Time: 17:35 hrs., Location: Merritt Avenue, Chatham
On March 16, 2026, at approximately 17:35 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an incident in a lobby area of a residence on Merritt Avenue, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that two individuals, a 40-year-old male accused from Chatham-Kent and a 30-year-old male victim from Chatham, became involved in an altercation. The accused struck the victim multiple times in the head with a glass casserole dish.
The victim sustained injuries and was assessed by emergency medical services but declined additional medical treatment.
The accused was subsequently charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault with a Weapon
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of June 16, 2026.
