Theft – CK26017921
Date: March 12, 2026, Time: 9:54 hrs, Location: Lorne Avenue, Chatham
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 9:54 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a package theft on Lacroix Street, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that two males attended a residential porch on Lacroix Street, remove a delivered package and left the area. The accused were later observed opening the package in a nearby alleyway.
Following a brief foot pursuit, officers quickly located one of the suspects on Lorne Avenue in possession of stolen property. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old male from Windsor was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Further investigations also revealed that the accused was in breach of his house arrest conditions and was subsequently additionally charged with the following:
- Count 3: Failure to Comply with Release Order
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.
Police have also identified a second suspect, a 33-year-old male from Chatham-Kent who remains outstanding at this time.
Arrest/Harassment – CK26017941
Date: March 12, 2026, Time: 10:56 hrs., Location: Chatham
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 10:56 hrs., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service began an investigation into a harassment complaint.
Through the investigation, police learned that between July 13, 2025 and March 12, 2026, a 40-year-old male from Chatham sent multiple inappropriate messages to a 37-year-old female from Chatham. The victim asked the accused to stop communicating; however, the accused continued.
The victim advised police about the incident. The accused located in Chatham.
He was arrested and charged with the following Offence
- Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicate
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with a scheduled court date of June 9, 2026.
