Chatham-Kent, Ontario — March 13, 2026 — The Chatham-Kent Police Service Board is proud to recognize several members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) with a Police Board Citation for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and technical expertise in advancing the implementation of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
NG9-1-1 represents a nationwide modernization of emergency communications, enabling improved public safety response through enhanced digital capabilities, including text-based communication, improved location accuracy, and the ability to receive richer data from callers and connected devices. This transition required extensive planning, technological upgrades, and seamless coordination among multiple agencies and emergency service partners.
