The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
RPG Arrest FTC – CK26014201
Date: February 25, 2026, Time: 3:36 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham
On October 4, 2025, at approximately 3:36 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.
Investigations revealed that a physical altercation occurred between a 23-year-old female accused from Wallaceburg and a 28-year-old male victim from Dresden. Both parties sustained minor injuries and additional medical attention was not required.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service where she was released with conditions and a future court date of October 28, 2025. The accused failed to attend this court date and subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On February 25, 2026, at approximately 10:08 hrs., the accused turned herself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was arrested on the strength of her outstanding warrant. The accused was released with a scheduled future court date of March 24, 2026.
Arrest ABH (IPV) – CK26014248
Date: February 25, 2026, Time: 14:11 hrs., Location: Wallaceburg
On February 24, 2026, at approximately 14:11 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg. Investigations revealed that a 64-year-old male accused physically assaulted a 65-year-old female victim, both from Wallaceburg. Further investigations also revealed that there were historical physical assaults.
As a result of the investigation, officers formed reasonable grounds to arrest and charge the accused with the following:
- Assault
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death x 4
- Assault by Choking, Strangling, or Suffocating
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.
Theft – CK26014305
Date: February 25, 2026, Time: 19:18 hrs., Location: Birchwood Street, Chatham
On February 25, 2026, at approximately 19:18 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft from a retail business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a delivery driver from the business attended a residence on Birchwood Street, Chatham with an online order. After the customer took possession of the package, the customer refused to make payment and closed the door.
Officers attended the residence shortly thereafter and with consent of the homeowner, officers entered the home and located the delivery package which was opened.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to arrest and charge the accused, a 23-year-old male from Chatham with the following:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 2: Possession of stolen Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, he was released with conditions and a future court date.
