The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Warrants – CK26012714

Date: February 19, 2026, Time: 16:34 hrs., Location: King Street West, Chatham

On February 1, 2026, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was notified of an accused, a 44-year-old female from Windsor who was in breach of her court-ordered conditions.

Investigations revealed that the accused, had attended an event, engaged in prohibited contact and recorded the interaction, which was in breach of her conditions. The accused left the location before police arrival.

Officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Disobeying Order of Court

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 11:21 hrs, the accused was arrested on Third Street, Chatham, on the strength of her outstanding warrant. The individual was later released with a future court date of March 17, 2026.

Liquor Licence Control Act – CK26012799

Date: February 19, 2026, Time: 16:34 hrs., Location: King Street West, Chatham

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 16:34 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a restaurant on King Street West, Chatham.

Investigations revealed that an intoxicated individual entered the restaurant and caused a disturbance while in possession of an open container of alcohol.

Officers arrived and located the accused, a 30-year-old male from Chatham, who displayed signs of being intoxicated. Officers formed grounds to arrest the individual for the following:

  • Count 1: Public Intoxication

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where while in custody, the individual damaged property. As a result, he was charged additionally with the following offence:

  • Count 2: Mischief

The individual was later released with conditions and a future court date of April 4, 2026.

Traffic Stop – CK26012682

Date: February 19, 2026, Time: 19:17 hrs., Location: Longwoods Road, Camden Township

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 19:17 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Longwoods Road, Camden Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old male from Chatham was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for speeding.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that speeding puts everyone at risk. Drivers are urged to obey posted speed limits, remain attentive and drive responsibly.
