On February 19, 2026, at approximately 18:11 hrs, members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a warrant at a residence on Sarah Crescent, Chatham. As a result, six individuals were arrested for possession of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Those charged include:
- A 27-year-old male from Brampton
- A 30-year-old female from Chatham
- A 36-year-old male from Chatham
- A 27-year-old male from Chatham
- A 34-year-old male from Chatham
- A 20-year-old male from Chatham
A systematic search of the residence was conducted by members of the Intelligence Unit and resulted in the seizure of the following:
- 354 grams of methamphetamine
- 186 grams of cocaine
- 69 grams of fentanyl
- A loaded Glock 26 Gen 5 9mm handgun
- Digital scales
- Packaging materials
- A debt list
- Canadian currency
- Counterfeit Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $53,640.
As a result of the investigation the accused have been charged with the following offences and all individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of a firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized S. 92(1) CC
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition S. 95 CC
- Careless Storage of a Firearm S. 86 CC
- Possession of Counterfeit Currency S. 450 CC
- Possession of Hydromorphone S. 4(1) CDSA
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (28-year-old male only)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order S. 145(5) CC– Not to possess any weapons defined by the criminal code (36-year-old male only)
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (27-year-old male only)
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (34-year-old female only)
