The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Warrants – CK26008939
Date: February 4, 2026, Time: 10:56hrs., Location: 24 Third St, Chatham
On October 4, 2025, at approximately 3:36 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of assault at a residence in Wallaceburg.
Investigations revealed that the accused, a 23-year-old female from Wallaceburg had physically assaulted a 28-year-old male from Inwood. Additional medical attention was required.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a court date. The accused failed to attend court and subsequently a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On January 4, 2026, at approximately 10:56 hrs., the accused surrendered herself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was arrested on the strength of an endorsed warrant. She was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of March 3, 2026.
Traffic Stop – CK26008869
Date: February 4, 2026, Time: 20:58 hrs., Location: Middle Line, Tilbury
On February 4, 2026, at approximately 20:58 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers were conducting enforcement at a four-way stop when a vehicle was observed failing to come to a complete stop at a posted stop sign on Middle Line, Tilbury.
As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old female driver from Tilbury was stopped and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for failing to stop.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind motorists that stop signs are in place to ensure the safety of all road users. Drivers must come to a complete stop and proceed only when it is safe to do so.
Bail Violations – CK26008945
Date: February 4, 2026, Time: 09:49 hrs., Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham
On February 4, 2026, at 09:49 hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for a person welfare check at a building on Wellington Street West, Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers located a male and female seated together outside the entrance of the building.
The individuals were identified as a 30-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, both from Chatham, who were found to be in violation of their court-ordered conditions. The male was in breach of his probation by associating with the female. The female was also in breach of her release order by associating with the male and was wanted on several outstanding endorsed and unendorsed warrants.
Both individuals were arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Fail to Comply with Probation
During a search incident, officers located a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine and subsequently the male accused was additionally charged with the following offence.
- Count 2: Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine)
The male accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with a scheduled future court date of March 5, 2026. The female accused was transported to the South West Detention Centre and remanded in custody until her next video court appearance on February 9, 2026.
