The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Warrants – CK26004654
Date: January 19, 2026, Time:
09:45 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham

On August 25, 2020, at approximately 12:17 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single vehicle that struck a telephone pole on Stewart Street, Tilbury (CK20043761).

Officers located the driver, a 39-year-old female from Romney Township who displayed signs of being impaired. Further investigations led to the driver being arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where breath testing was conducted.

The accused was charged with the following:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Over 80 mgs
  • Operation while Prohibited
  • Driving while Suspended x2
  • Careless Driving

The accused was released with a future court date of September 9, 2020 which she failed to attend and was additionally charged with Failure to Attend Court. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.

On January 19, 2026, at approximately 09:45 hrs., the accused surrendered herself at Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was arrested on the strength of her outstanding warrant. The individual was later released with conditions and future court date of February 23, 2026.

Break and Enter – CK26004765
Date: January 19, 2026, Time:
19:33 hrs., Location: King Street, Wallaceburg

On January 19, 2026, at approximately 19:33hrs., police responded to a report of break and enter on King Street, Wallaceburg.

Investigation revealed that multiple individuals were inside an unoccupied home.

Upon arrival, officers observed several individuals exiting the residence. Some of the individuals fled on foot but were pursued by officers and arrested. Others were arrested at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling:

  • A 32-year-old female from Chatham-Kent
  • A 37-year-old male from Chatham-Kent
  • A 47-year-old male from Wallaceburg
  • A 50- year-old male from Chatham-Kent
  • A 28-year-old male from Chatham-Kent

A 59-year-old male from Wallaceburg was released at the scene with conditions.

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where they were released with conditions and future court dates between February 23 and 26, 2026.

Fail to Comply with Probation – CK26004840
Date: January 20, 2026, Time:
01:09 hrs, Location: Burk Line, Harwich.

On January 20, 2026, at approximately 01:09 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an individual in violation of his probation order at a residence on Burk Line, Harwich.

Investigations revealed that a 31-yer-old male from Chatham was bound by conditions, including restrictions to contacting specific individuals and attending certain locations, expect for required court appearances.

Officers attended the residence and located the accused inside.

As a result, he was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Failure to Comply with Probation

Further investigation confirmed that the accused was also wanted on three outstanding warrants for failing to comply with his probation order.

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.
