Date: January 14, 2026, Time: 14:10 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 00:23 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a call regarding a female victim who reported being bear maced in the area of Queen Street and William Street, Chatham. The investigation identified three youth suspects – 2 male and 1 female. All three were arrested and charged. One male youth was on conditions prohibited him from possessing weapons, as a result of a previous arrest and resulted in an additional charge.
The male was arrested and released with conditions to attend court on specific dates. When he failed to attend a scheduled court date, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 14, 2026, he turned himself in to police. He was subsequently released on a Form 9 with a future court date set for February 18, 2026.
The 16-year-old Chatham youth currently faces the following charges:
• Assault with a weapon
• Administering a noxious thing
• Failure to comply with an undertaking

Date: January 14, 2026, Time: 23:39 hrs., Location: King Street E, Chatham

On January 14, 2026, at approximately 23:39 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on King Street E, Chatham.
An intoxicated female refused to leave her boyfriend’s home despite multiple requests and offers for a ride home. Police confirmed that no threats or assaults occurred during the incident.
As a result, the 19-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for Breach of the Peace and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where she was released to a family member.

Motor Vehicle Collision Update
Between yesterday and this morning, Chatham-Kent Police Service has responded to six motor vehicle collisions and ten incidents requiring police assistance, where multiple motorists had left the roadway.
