The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 48 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, Public Intox – CK25078695

Date: December 31, 2025, Time: 23:49hrs, Location: Eventide Pl., Chatham

On December 31, 2025, at approximately 23:49 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance in the area of Eventide Place, Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male from Woodstock, visibly intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the area. Police determined that the individual was unable to care for himself and posed a risk to public safety.

As a result, the individual was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where, once sober, he was released with a Provincial Offence Notice.

Arrest, Impaired/Over 80- CK26000021

Date: December 31, 2025, Time: 23:49hrs, Location: Pain Court Line, Pain Court

On December 31, 2025, at approximately 23:49 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Pain Court Line in Pain Court.

Investigations revealed that a vehicle had left the roadway and entered a ditch. Upon arrival, officers located a lone occupant seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle displaying signs of impairment. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 25-year-old male from Pain Court, was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where breath testing indicated the driver was over the legal limit.

The accused was charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

He was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of January 19, 2026.

Arrest, FTC/ Facilitate Breach – CK26000021/ CK25078666

Date: December 31, 2025, Time: 20:15hrs Location: McCreary Line, Dresden

On December 31, 2025, at approximately 20:15hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a male, who was bound by a release order and was observed in the company of an individual he was prohibited from contacting. Officers attended the area and conducted a traffic stop on McCreary Line, Dresden.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male from Dresden was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Failure to Comply with Release Order

A 48-year-old female from Camlachie was also arrested for the following:

  • Facilitate a Breach of a Release Order

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with conditions and a scheduled court date.

Arrest, Warrants – CK26000140

Date: January 1, 2026, Time: 15:17hrs, Location: Prospect Street, Tilbury

In May 2024, at approximately 4:52 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a reported threat complaint at a residence on Oak Street in Tilbury.

Investigations revealed that on two separate incidents the accused, a 56-year-old male from Tilbury, had made several verbal threats towards both 72-and 69-year-old female victims.

A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of ammunition and a quantity of a suspected controlled substance. As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Uttering threats to cause death
  • Count 2: Uttering threats to cause death
  • Count 3: Possession of a Substance
  • Count 4: Ammunition; knowledge of unauthorized possession

The accused was released with conditions and provided with a future court date which he failed to attend on several occasions. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On January 1, 2026, at approximately 15:17hrs, as a result of a person stop, the accused was located on Prospect Street, Tilbury and was arrested on an endorsed Failure to Attend Warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of February 3, 2026.

Arrest, Threats – CK26000132

Date: January 1, 2025, Time: 14:31hrs.  Location: Wallace Street, Wallaceburg

On January 1, 2025, at approximately 14:31hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received numerous phone calls to the Police Service front desk during which threats were made toward police officers. The calls continued over a short period of time.

As a result of the investigation, officers attended a residence on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. Police located a and arrested a 20-year-old male from Wallaceburg. Further investigations also revealed that the accused was also bound by a probation order with conditions.

The accused was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death
  • Count 2: Harassing Communications
  • Count 3: Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Count 4: Being Intoxicated in a public place

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, he is currently being held for bail.
