The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, FTC Probation – CK25073854
Date: December 29, 2025, Time: 14:10 hrs, Location: Dufferin Avenue, Tilbury
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 14:10 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a call at a residence after receiving reports of an unwanted individual inside a unit on Dufferin Avenue, Tilbury.
Investigations revealed that a 38-year-old male from Belle River was present in the residence and was not legally permitted to be there. Further investigation revealed that the male was subject to court-order probation conditions prohibiting him from communicating with or being in the presence of a 45-year-old female from Tilbury.
Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Failing to Comply with Probation
The 45-year-old female was also arrested and charged with the following:
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
The accused were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where the 38-year-old male was released with conditions and a scheduled court date of February 9, 2026. The 45-year-old female was also released with a future court date of January 15, 2026.
Arrest, Warrants – CK25078164
Date: December 29, 2025, Time: 15:39 hrs., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
On October 16, 2025, at approximately 7:08 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported theft at a retail store on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg.
Through the use of video surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 28-year-old female from Chatham-Kent, who entered the store and left with merchandise without paying.
Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
A warrant was issued for her arrest.
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 15:39 hrs, the accused was located on Wallace Street, Wallaceburg where she was arrested on outstanding endorsed warrant. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, she was released with a scheduled court date of January 29, 2026.
Arrest, Impaired Operation – CK25078180
Date: December 29, 2025, Time: 16:19 hrs., Location: Elizabeth St., Chatham
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 16:19 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street in Chatham.
The driver, a 42-year-old female from Chatham, displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently placed under arrest. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she provided two breath samples, both registering above the legal limit. She was charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
She was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of January 15, 2026.
