The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Warrants – CK25073910

Date: December 9, 2025, Time: 09:02 hrs, Location: Pain Court Line, Dover Township

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 09:02 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police officer conducted a traffic stop in Pain Court, Dover Township, after observing a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

Investigation revealed that the driver, a 21-year-old male from Tilbury, was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police. Elgin County OPP officers attended the scene and took custody of the accused to process his warrant.

He was released by the OPP with conditions and a scheduled court date. In addition to the warrant arrest, the accused was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for speeding under the HTA.

Warrants – CK25073961

Date: December 9, 2025, Time: 13:32 hrs, Location: Madonna Cr, Chatham

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 1:01 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person damaging a residence and attempting to access vehicles on Pine Street in Chatham (CK25019156).

Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old male from Chatham-Kent. The accused admitted to causing the damage because he believed someone inside the residence was being harmed. Officers searched the home and confirmed that no one inside was in danger.

Officers had reasonable grounds to arrest and charge the individual with the following offence:

  • Mischief Under $5,000

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, where he was released with conditions and a court date. The accused subsequently failed to attend court on multiple occasions and did not comply with his probation order. On October 21, 2025, the accused was located and arrested on the strength of his warrant. He was released with a future court date of November 24, 2025, which he also failed to attend.

On December 9, 2025, the accused was located during a family dispute investigation and arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and is currently being held for bail.

Prohibited Drive – CK25073983

Date: December 9, 2025, Time: 15:12 hrs, Location: Chatham Street North, Blenheim

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 15:12 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Chatham Street North in Blenheim. The driver, a 38-year-old male from Chatham, was found to be prohibited from driving.

He was arrested and charged with the following offence:

Count 1: Operate While Prohibited

The individual was also issued five Part III summonses. He was released with conditions and a scheduled court date of January 26, 2026.

His vehicle was towed and placed in a 45-day impound.

Public Intoxication – CK25074082

Date: December 9, 2025, Time: 00:33 hrs, Location: Maxwell Drive, Chatham

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 00:33 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a disturbance involving two males in a detached garage on Maxwell Drive in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old male from Blenheim who was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

The investigation revealed that the individual had been consuming alcohol throughout the day and had engaged in a verbal dispute with the other male.

The individual was arrested and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being intoxicated in a public place. He was also transported to hospital for further assessment.
