The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Pursuit – CK25073723
Date: December 8, 2025, Time: 13:12 hrs, Location: Talbot Trail, Blenheim
On December 9, 2025, at approximately 13:12 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer was on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle travelling on Fleming Street in Blenheim with an obstructed licence plate.
As the vehicle stopped at the intersection of James and Talbot Street West, the driver was identified as a 29-year-old male from Blenheim. Investigations revealed that the driver is currently prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver then accelerated and fled westbound onto Talbot Street West. A short time later, officer located and arrested the accused.
The individual was charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Prohibited x 4
- Flight from Police
- Fail to Comply
- Drive Suspended
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.
Theft – CK25073735
Date: December 8, 2025, Time: 13:38 hrs, Location: St. Clair St, Chatham
On November 8, 2025, at approximately 13:38 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported theft at a local retail store on St. Clair St, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a male entered the store, proceeded to select several items of merchandise and attempted to exit the store without making a purchase. The accused identified as a 31-year-old male from Chatham-Kent was apprehended by the store’s security.
Officers arrived and arrested the accused. He was charged with the following offences:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, he was released with conditions and future court date of January 5, 2026.
Warrants – CK25073854
Date: December 8, 2025, Time: 01:14 hrs, Location: James Street, Wallaceburg
On December 7, 2025, at approximately 0819 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence on Minnie Street in Wallaceburg. The investigation revealed that an individual had entered a shed attached to the residence.
While officers were examining the area of entry, they were approached by a second victim who reported that their residence on Duke Street had also been broken into earlier.
Through the use of surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as a 46-year-old male from Chatham-Kent.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect left both locations with stolen property.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:
- Count 1: Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Theft
- Count 2: Break and Enter Commit Theft
- Count 3: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Count 4: Trespassing at Night
- Count 5: Disguise with Intent
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On December 8, 2025, at approximately 01:14 hrs, the accused was located and arrested on George Street in Wallaceburg on an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.

CK25073708 – Stolen Vehicle
On December 6, 2025, police responded to a report of a stolen compact tractor on Richmond Street, Chatham. A red 2024 Massey Ferguson Compact Tractor. Last observed heading east on Grand Avenue East towards Longwoods/Communication at approximately 4:09 a.m.
CK25073730 – Stolen Vehicle
On December 8, 2025, at 1409 hrs, police responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle on Grand West, Chatham. The vehicle is described as a white, 2012 Cadillac SRX. The theft occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m.
