The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Weapons – CK25071486

Date: November 28, 2025, Time: 09:26 hrs, Location: Communication Road, Harwich Township

On November 28, 2025, at approximately 09:26 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an individual driving dangerously on Communication Road, Harwich Township while waving and pointing a handgun at motorists.

Officers quickly located the vehicle near Communication Road and Fairview Line. The driver then attempted to flee the scene. A high-risk-traffic stop was conducted based on the possible possession of a firearm.

After several minutes of communication, the driver complied, exited the vehicle and was safely arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a Glock-style BB Gun.

The accused was identified as a 20-year-old male from Blenheim. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he became assaultive and spat on an officer, resulting in additional criminal charges.

The accused was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Count 2: Pointing a Firearm
  • Count 3: Dangerous Operation
  • Count 4: Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Count 5: Assault Peace Officer
  • Count 6: Mischief Under $5,000
  • Count 7: Theft Under $5,000 (related to a separate fuel theft investigation)
  • Count 8: Possession Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the to South West Detention Centre (SWDC), where he will remain in custody until his next scheduled video court appearance on December 2, 2025.

Warrant Arrest – CK25071632

Date: November 28, 2025, Time: 21:51 hrs, Location: Duke Street, Chatham

On September 29, 2025, at approximately 21:51 hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a well-being check at a motel on Grand Avenue East in Chatham, after learning that a 27-year-old male from Chatham was in breach of his probation order (CK25058986).

Through investigation and the use of video surveillance, the accused was identified at the location with a 29-year-old female from Chatham whom he was ordered not to be in communication with which constituted a breach of his probationary conditions. The accused left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police formed grounds to charge the individual with the following:

• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

As a result, a warrant for his arrest was requested.

On November 28, 2025, at 21:51 hrs, the accused was located by police on Duke Street, Chatham. The individual was found to have an outstanding warrant and he was subsequently arrested. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he later released with conditions and a future court date of December 30, 2025.

Warrant Arrest – CK25071634

Date: November 28, 2025, Time: 22:11 hrs, Location: Merritt Avenue, Chatham

On October 17, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a threat complaint on Riverview Drive, Chatham (CK25063003).

Investigation revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old male from Leamington, reported that the accused, a 30-year-old male from Chatham, had threatened to physically assault him and his family.

Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Uttering threats to cause bodily harm

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

On November 28, 2025, at approximately 22:11 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a noise complaint at Merritt Avenue, Chatham. During the investigation, officers learned that the accused had an outstanding warrant for uttering threats. He was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of December 29, 2025.

Breach of Probation – CK25071677

Date: November 29, 2025, Time: 04:51hrs., Location: Hiram Street, Wallaceburg

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 04:51 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance at a residence on Hiram Street, Wallaceburg.

Investigations revealed that the victim, a 70-year-old male from Wallaceburg, reported that the accused, a 44-year-old male from Chatham-Kent had entered the residence, yelling and causing a disturbance.

Further investigations revealed that the accused was on probation with conditions not to attend the residence or have contact with the victim.

Officers arrived and located the individual inside the home. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of December 30, 2025.

Shoplift – CK25071749

Date: November 29, 2025, Time: 1404 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue, West. Chatham

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 14:04 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a shoplifting complaint at a gas station located on Grand Avenue West, Chatham.

Investigations revealed a male had had entered the store and selected several items and left without paying. He was later observed walking westbound on Grand Avenue. A description of the suspect was provided to the police. The suspect was identified as a 32-year-old male from Chatham.

Officers later located the individual and he was found to be in possession of the stolen items. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Theft Under $5,000.
  • Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of December 23, 2025.

Theft, Warrants – CK25071988

Date: November 30, 2025, Time: 14:21 hrs, Location: Park Avenue East, Chatham

On November 30, 2025, at approximately 14:21 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to report of a stolen phone from a restaurant on Park Avenue East, Chatham.

The complainant, a 26-year-old male from Chatham, stated that he had accidentally left his phone behind at the restaurant. When he returned moments later, he observed several individuals leaving the area and was unable to locate the device.

Through the use of surveillance footage, a suspect was identified as a 32-year-old female from Chatham-Kent.

Officers located and arrested the accused on Park Avenue East, Chatham. She was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
  • Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.
