Probation Breach/Warrants – CK25071387
Date: November 27, 2025, Time: 21:43 hrs., Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On November 27, 2025, at approximately 21:00 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a shoplifting investigation at a store in the shopping complex at the corner of St. Clair Street and Pioneer Line. Upon arrival, officers learned that the woman had left the scene and was seen walking towards another store in the same complex.
As officers entered the store to locate the individual, they were aware she had three outstanding warrants. The search led them to the women’s clothing department, where the woman was located and placed under arrest.
During the arrest, it was confirmed that the woman was on a probation order that prohibited her from attending that store. As a result, she was re-arrested for failing to comply with her probation conditions.
The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent woman currently faces the following charges:
- Fail to comply with probation order (x2)
- Failing to comply with a release order (x2)
- Fail to attend court
She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held for bail.
Motor Vehicle Collision – CK25071400
Date: November 27, 2025, Time: 22:02 hrs., Location: Mariners Road, Erieau
On November 27, 2025, at approximately 22:02 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report that a vehicle had entered the water on Mariners Rd in Erieau.
The driver mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to launch into the channel. Upon entering the water, the windshield broke, allowing both occupants, a 20-year-old woman and a 18-year-old woman, to escape the vehicle before it sank.
After approximately four minutes in the water, the two women discovered a nearby ladder and managed to climb out, reaching a nearby house where they called for assistance.
The channel where the incident occurred is approximately 20 feet deep. The Harbour Master and Federal Docks were notified of the submerged vehicle to address the situation.
Impaired Driving – CK25071433
Date: November 28, 2025, Time: 01:31 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On November 28, 2025, at approximately 01:32 hrs, police responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver at convenience store on Grand Avenue West, in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers found the driver exhibiting signs of impairment, including a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. He admitted to drinking earlier that night. After displaying unsteadiness while exiting his vehicle, police arrested him for impaired driving.
The 44-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. He was released on a Form 10 and received notices of suspension and impound. His court appearance is scheduled for December 16, 2025.
