On November 26, 2025, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at the residence of a 34-year-old Chatham male, on Riverview Drive in Chatham, as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
At approximately 14:15 hrs, Intelligence Unit officers observed the accused leave his residence and enter a motor vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted a short distance away, where he was arrested for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. A search of the accused resulted in the seizure of 33.96 grams of fentanyl and 4.55 grams of crack cocaine.
At approximately 14:37 hrs, officers executed search warrant at the accused’s residence.
A systematic search resulted in the seizure of the following:
-39.17 grams of fentanyl
-66.12 grams of cocaine
-Debt lists
-Digital Scales
-Packaging materials
-Sawed off .22 calibre rifle
A quantity of Canadian currency (pending count)
The estimated street value of the seized substances is approximately $21,600.
As a result, the accused was charged with the following offences:
-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
-Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
-Possession of a prohibited or Restricted Firearm
-Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
-Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition order
-Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused is currently held in custody pending a bail hearing.
