The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Warrants – CK25070919
Date: November 25, 2025, Time: 09:40hrs, Location: HQ Chatham
On August 21, 2025, at approximately 12: 33 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of assault between two individuals.
Investigations revealed that a 20-year-old male victim from Chatham was physically assaulted by a 17-year-old female, also from Chatham. Additional medical attention was required.
The accused was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Assault
- Count 2: Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Choke, Suffocate or strangle
The accused was released with a scheduled future court date of September 24, 2025, which she failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was issued for her arrest.
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 9:40 hrs, the accused surrendered herself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date.
Arrest, Warrants – CK25070948
Date: November 25, 2025, Time: 13:30 hrs. Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On September 14, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Grande River Line, Chatham (CK24045699).
Investigation revealed that a suspect had unlawfully entered a garage at the residence and stolen several items. Upon police arrival, the suspect was still present at the location.
Further investigation identified the female as a 44-year-old female from Chatham-Kent. She was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling Unit
- Count 2: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 3: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
She was released with conditions and given a future court date of October 7, 2025, which she failed to attend. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 13:30 hours, the accused was located on Grand Avenue West, Chatham and was arrested on a first-instant warrant for failing to comply with her probation. She was released with a future court date of December 30, 2025.
Arrest, IPV – CK25071018
Date: November 25, 2025, Time: 20:26 hrs Location: Chatham
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 20:26 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of intimate partner violence at a residence in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that during a phone call between a complainant, a 51-year-old female from Chatham and the victim, a 22-year-old female from Chatham, the accused, a 19-year-old male from Chatham, physically assaulted the victim, causing minor injury to her leg.
Officers attended the location and spoke to the involved parties. The victim also reported that there had been historical assault by the accused.
Subsequently, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Assault x 2
- Assault to Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, Suffocate or Strangle
- Forcible Confinement
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, he is currently held for bail.
Further investigations also revealed that the victim was also found to be in breach of her court ordered conditions to not communicate with the accused. She was also arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and she was later released with conditions.
Arrest, Warrant – CK25071035
Date: November 25, 2025, Time: 22:54 hrs, Location: Simcoe Lane, Chatham
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 22:54 hrs, while on patrol, a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer observed a male individual at the rear of a building on Simcoe Lane, Chatham.
Investigations identified the individual as a 43-year-old male from Chatham-Kent. Further investigations also revealed that he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his probation.
On July 24, 2025, the accused was convicted of the following charges:
- Fraud Under $5,000
- Failure to Attend Court
He was subsequently, arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Failure to Comply
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with conditions and a future court date.
