The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Warrants – CK25069999
Date: November 21, 2025, Time: 11:23hrs, Location: Lorne Avenue, Chatham
On November 6, 2025, at approximately 16:28 hr, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft at a local business on Wellington Street West, Chatham. A male suspect, entered the store, selected merchandise and walked through the aisles before leaving the premises without making any attempt to pay. The suspect passed all points of payment before exiting (CL25000643).
Through investigation, police identified the individual as a 50-year-old male from Highgate. Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the individual with the following offences:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5000
- Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 21, 2025, at approximately 11:23 hrs, police located the accused walking on Lorne Avenue. Investigations confirmed the male was wanted on an outstanding endorsed warrant.
The individual was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where later released with a future court December 2, 2025.
Arrest, Impaired – CK25070230
Date: November 21, 2025, Time: 11:23hrs, Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
On November 21, 2025, at approximately 03:42 hrs, police conducted a traffic stop on Grand Avenue East, Chatham. As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old man from Windsor was arrested for impaired driving.
The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further breath testing, where he provided two samples registering nearly three times the legal limit.
He was charged with the following offences:
- Impaired Operation and Operation While Over 80 mg.
The accused was later released with a future court date of December 9, 2025.
Arrest, Impaired – CK25070022
Date: November 22, 2025, Time: 01:15hrs. Location: Pollard Line in Tilbury
On November 22, 2025, at approximately 01:15 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Pollard Line in Tilbury. During the stop, officers observed an open container of alcohol within reach of the driver.
An Approved Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted and the driver registered a failed.
The driver, a 26-year-old from Chatham-Kent, was transported to the Ontario Provincial Police, Leamington for further testing. He provided two breath samples measuring over the legal limit.
The individual was charged with the following offence:
- Operation While Over 80 mg
He was later released with a future court date of December 2, 2025.
Arrest, Bail Violations – CK25070443
Date: November 22, 2025, Time: 03:34 hrs, Location: Wallace Street, Wallaceburg
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 03:35 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were conducting general patrol on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg when, officers observed a male riding a bicycle without proper lighting. A traffic stop was initiated.
The individual, a 43-year-old from Wallaceburg who is known to police from previous interactions, was found to be bound by a release order issued on November 18, 2025. The order included a condition requiring him to remain at his residence between 12:00 a.m. and 06:00 a.m. which he was found to be in breach of his conditions.
The individual was arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Count 1: Failure to Comply with the Release Order
The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he was released with a future court date of December 4, 2025.
Arrest, Mischief – CK25070470
Date: November 22, 2025, Time: 05:51 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 05:51 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an unwanted person on Grand Avenue West, Chatham
Officers located the individual, a 32-year-old male from Chatham and during the investigation, the individual struck a police cruiser with his fist, causing minor scratches to the vehicle.
The male was arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Count 1: Mischief Under $5,000
He was later released with a future court date of December 23, 2025
Arrest, Mischief – CK25070489
Date: November 23, 2025, Time: 07:51 hrs, Location: King Street West, Chatham
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 07:51 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of Mischief at a local retail store on King Street West, Chatham.
The complainant, a 26-year-old from Chatham advised officers that upon attending work at approximately 09:00 hrs, he discovered three front windows of the business to be completely shattered and the front glass door to be broken.
Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 33-year-old male from Chatham. Further investigations also revealed that the accused was in breach of his probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:
- Count 1: Mischief Over $5,000
- Count 2: Failure to Comply with Probation Order
The individual was later located and arrested on Wellington Street in Chatham. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where is he currently being held for bail.
Arrest, Theft – CK25070690
Date: November 23, 2025, Time: 04:48 hrs, Location: King Street West, Chatham
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 04:48 hrs, The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a local business on King Street West, Chatham.
The property owner, who is a 36-year-old male from Harwich Township reported that an individual was on the business’s roof stealing copper flashing.
Officers located and arrested the accused, a 43-year-old male from Chatham-Kent. He was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Mischief Under $5,000,
- Count 2: Theft Under $5,000,
- Count 3: Trespass by Night
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a future court date of December 30, 2025.
Mischief – CK25070583
Date: November 23, 2025, Time: 19:34 hrs, Location: Chatham
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 19:34 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a complaint of mischief at a residence in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that an individual attended the residence and threw a rock through a window, causing damage. Through further investigations, the accused was identified as a 36-year-old female from Chatham.
Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences.
- Count 1: Mischief Under $5,000
A warrant was issued for her arrest.
The accused was later located and arrested. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a future court date of December 16, 2025.
