The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Warrants – CK25065403

Date: October 29, 2025, Time: 09:49 hrs, Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham

On October 24, 2025, at approximately 08:00hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded after multiple calls were received reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence in Blenheim.

Investigations revealed that a verbal dispute escalated when a 44-year-old female from Harwich Township threw multiple objects towards the 30-year-old male victim from Blenheim. The accused then physically assaulted the victim and caused damage to the property. The victim sustained minor injuries, medical attention was not required.  The accused left the residence before the arrival of officers. A warrant was issued for the individual’s arrest.

On October 29, 2025, at approximately 09:49 hrs, the accused turned herself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was released with a scheduled court date of November 25, 2025.

Arrest Impaired/MVC – CK25065546

Date: October 30, 2025, Time: 00:19hrs, Location: Colborne Street, Chatham

On October 30, 2025, at approximately 00:19 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and a train on Colborne Street, Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle just off the rails, evidence was observed to suggest the vehicle had struck the train. The driver, a 19-year-old female, had exited the car prior to the arrival of officers and did not sustain any injuries. Train officials were contacted, and the train was halted.  An inspection confirmed damage was caused to the locomotive.  Through investigations, officers determined the driver was operating the vehicle while impaired.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, the accused provided two breath samples both, resulting in failure.

The accused was subsequently charged with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration over (80 plus)

The individual was released with a scheduled court date of November 18, 2025.
