The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Impaired/MVC – CK25064464
Date: October 24, 2025, Time: 09:09hrs, Location: Queens Line and McDougall Line, Tilbury
On October 24, 2025, at approximately 09:09 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Queens Line and McDougall Line, Tilbury.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times into a field. The driver, a 39-year-old female from Tilbury was located by Chatham-Kent Police Service and other emergency response services.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries however, additional medical attention was required and she was transported to the hospital. Further investigation also revealed that the individual possessed a suspended driver’s licence.
The accused provided two breath samples both resulting in failure. She was subsequently charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration over (80 plus)
- Count 2: Driving while Under Suspension
The individual was released with a scheduled future court date of November 13, 2025.
Impaired/MVC – CK25064675
Date: October 25, 2025, Time: 22:34 hrs, Location: Bear Creek Road, Camden Township
On October 25, 2025, at approximately 22:34 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Bear Creek Road, Camden Township.
Investigations revealed that a vehicle had left the roadway and veered into a ditch. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Thamesville, was identified as the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver also displayed signs of impairment. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries, however additional medical attention was required and he was transported to the hospital.
The accused provided two breath samples, both resulting in failure. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Operation while Impaired
- Count 2: Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released and provided with a future court date of November 13, 2025.
Impaired/MVC – CK25064777
Date: October 26, 2025, Time: 04:15 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On October 26, 2025, at approximately 04:15 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service officers observed two vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed within a parking lot on Grand Avenue West, Chatham.
Officers followed both vehicles as they exited the area and continued to monitor their speed. Both vehicles were travelling over the speed limit in a school zone and a traffic stop was conducted for the vehicles.
The driver of the first vehicle operated by a 39-year-old female from Wallaceburg was charged with the following:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt- Excessive Speed
The driver of the second vehicle, operated by a 33-year-old male from Ridgetown was also charged with the following:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt- Excessive Speed
Both involved vehicles were impounded and held for 14-days. Additionally, the drivers were released on a Part III summons with a future court date.
Arrest/Warrants – CK25064805
Date: October 26, 2025, Time: 09:41 hrs, Location: Forsyth St., Chatham
On September 12, 2025, at approximately 12:00 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of counterfeit currency used at a local retail store on Chatham Street North, Blenheim.
Investigation revealed that a male attended the business and used counterfeit Canadian money to make a purchase before exiting the store.
Through the use of surveillance footage, officers identified the accused as a 50-year-old male from Blenheim. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On October 26, 2025, at approximately 09:41 hrs the accused was located and arrested for an endorsed first instance warrant. He was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Uttering counterfeit money
- Count 2: Possession of counterfeit money
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with conditions and a scheduled future court of December 2, 2025.
