The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Impaired – CK25063565
Date: October 20, 2025, Time: 13:11 hrs, Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham
On June 13, 2025, at approximately 22:55 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was contacted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) regarding the investigation of a theft. Investigations revealed that a stolen credit card had been used at a gas station located in Tilbury (CK25037230).
Through further investigation, officers determined that the accused, 54-year-old female from Chatham made several unauthorized purchases at the gas station using the stolen credit card. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
As a result of the investigation, the accused is facing the following charges:
- Count 1 – Fraud Under $5,000
- Count 2 – Use stolen credit card
- Count 3 – Possession of Property obtained by Crime Under $5,000
On July 17, 2025, the accused who is the subject of warrant for fraud, surrendered herself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters (CK25042208). The individual was arrested on the strength of her outstanding warrant. She was released with a scheduled court date of August 25, 2025, which she failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest (RM25003311).
On October 20, 2025, at approximately 13:11 hrs, the accused who is the subject of an endorsed warrant for fraud, surrendered herself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.
Arrest, FTC, IPV- CK25063710/ CK25063711
Date: October 20, 2025, Time: 04:50 hrs, Location: Chatham
On October 20, 2025, at approximately 04:54 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance between two individuals at a residence in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that an individual, a 37-year-old male from Chatham was at the residence of a 39-year-old male from Dover Township breaching his court ordered released conditions.
Investigations revealed that the 39-year-old male left the residence and was travelling eastbound on McNaughton Avenue.
Police located the vehicle travelling in the area and initiated a traffic stop after observing the vehicle to have its taillights out. Officers observed signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested.
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing which he failed. As a result, the individual was charged with the following offences:
Count 1: Facilitate Breach
Count 2: Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available
Count 3: Operate While Impaired
Count 4: Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration over (80 plus)
He is currently being held for bail.
The second accused, the 37-year-old male was also arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Count #1 – Failure to Comply with Order
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is also being held for bail.
